About us
Little Hoots provides care and education for Pre-school children age 3-4, many of whom go on to attend Grangefield School. Whichever school they attend we provide a fun and friendly introduction to 'big school', building your child's confidence and early years skills along the way. Little Hoots provides a Breakfast Club and After School Club, and a Holiday Club to provide childcare services during school holidays. We are a friendly and approachable team who enjoy bringing out the best in children.
Little Hoots began life in 2000 as the Preschool facility attached to Grangefield Primary School. After several successful years operating under the umbrella of Grangefield School, the decision was taken by the governors of the school to make Little Hoots an independent and privately-owned business. Little Hoots has operated as a privately run business since September 2008 and continues to go from strength to strength.
The Management Team
Joelle Strawford
Joelle joined Little Hoots as manager in September 2008 following over ten years as an infant teacher including one year teaching part time in the reception class at Grangefield School. She qualified from Birmingham University in 1996 with a Bachelor in Primary Education with Honours.
Michelle Skelton
Michelle has worked at Little Hoots since 2003 and became Deptuy Manager in 2004. Before joining the Little Hoots team she was a full time Mother. She left school in 1985 and went to college to study Family and Community Care, City and Guilds. In 1995 she achieved her NVQ Level 3 in Early Years Care and Education.
